The IDA presented its plan for its 80 acre site to Greystones Town Council on Wednesday. They intend to develop the section next to Charlesland by putting in a road next January and seeking tenants. The next section they intend to sell off to a developer of Industrial sites and at Mill Road they want to rezone for Town Centre which would allow a Shopping Centre. A number of people have mentioned the poor public transport to Eden Gate. This is a problem. However the 84x provides a surprisingly fast service to Dublin. Following pressure there are now 10 services in the morning rush hour and it stops at Eden Wood. I am also pressing for: • More jobs in Greystones to reduce the need to commute. • A primary school in Charlesland.
I have raised a number of relevant issues: Roundabout. Copy of engineers reply attached. He got the wrong idea. He is going to think about it further but the issues are difficult. Pedestrian Crossings. I also asked him to consider this in view of the developments and the poor crossings to shops and bus stops. Bus Shelter. We meet Dublin Bus tonight and I am asking for one at Eden Wood stop which is busy.
