The N11 Interim Bus Priority Scheme is open for Public Display on the web. This provides for bus lanes from Loughlinstown to Fassaroe on both sides and from the Glenview to Kilmacanoge, Northbound. Also a more complex Central Section from Fassaroe to Kilmacanoge on both sides of the road.
A detailed look at it shows it is much more extensive than initially appears. It involves closing the Enniskerry and Kilcroney turnoffs from the N11 to all traffic. I think this will divert a lot of traffic back into Bray and increase queues on the N11at Bray South. Also the rural roads to the South of Enniskerry will get busier.
The original scheme had a parallel road, on each side, for buses and local traffic to take the traffic from the closed junctions but this scheme omits that. The original scheme was postponed/cancelled by Minister Eamon Ryan who does not want a road capacity increase in spite of the huge population growth South of Bray. I think we should go back to the original scheme.
Added to these transport problems the recent All Island Rail Review has ignored the rail improvements planned for Greystones DART and South of there.
