There are many interested in creative arts and it needs to be fostered in the rapidly growing community. A group of well-known artists has proposed a multifunctional space for artistic expression such as workshops, education, an exhibition and gallery facility, creative programming and engagement with the community. This would provide a valuable resource for artists and the general public for many arts and crafts disciplines.
‘I would like to see this happen and I think it would fit in well on the hotel site. It could potentially provide a working space that directly develops a cultural tradition and fits in with the hotel’ said Cllr. Derek Mitchell.
Greystones Councillors supported this motion and asked the management to try to include this in proposals for the hotel site.
