Greystones Station concern

Greystones Municipal District Councillors are writing to Irish Rail to complain about the waiting area in the station being turned into a restaurant. Greystones is the 5th busiest suburban station in Ireland but DARTs are only 2 per hour and 1 per hour at weekends. This makes for heavy peak loads. Also the track from Bray is less reliable than the rest of the DART. This results in passengers having to wait longer times than other DART stations. The present waiting area needs to be kept and improved.

‘The Council has provided 90 bike parking spaces which are full and more need to be provided within the station. Instead Irish Rail had wanted to reduce the amount of  bike parking provided by the Council!! The latter idea was ruled out by Council staff, thank goodness’ said Cllr Derek Mitchell.
