On Monday 27th April Wicklow County Council passed the Capital Spending Plans for the next 3 years. Of the €58m of projects listed only a miniscule €182k or .3 % was for the Greystones/Kilcoole area even though we have 20% of the population. 50% is to be spent in Bray and 23% in the Arklow area.
‘I voted against this discrimination and was disappointed no other Councillor voted against. Area Councillors need to get behind efforts to demand a proper budget for the area.
Greystones is the fastest expanding area and we badly need the Delgany to Blacklion road designed and built. This has been on the plans for 30 years yet these spending plans ignore it for 3 more years’.
