Cllr. Derek Mitchell said ‘The La Touche Hotel has been a very prominent derelict site for over 10 years and it needs to be redeveloped. However the present plan, for 26 mostly tall houses, is too near Cliff Road, on the sea side, too tall and hides the old structure. It would be much better if a curved terrace was built on the sea side, more in character with the old hotel. I have objected to these aspects of this plan and would urge other concerned people to object before the deadline of the 11thMarch’.
