Loughlinstown Hospital to turn off Heat

During the Summer some patients mentioned that even though it was 30C outside the heating in some hospital wards was full on. Patients with high temperatures were badly affected but were not allowed bring in a fan for Health and Safety reasons. This seemed strange even though the patients said they were pleased with the medical care.
As a member of the HSE Regional Forum I asked about this and was told engineers had advised it was not possible to turn off all wards. However it has now been agreed to upgrade the heating system this year. In these days of great emphasis on energy efficiency I am glad this is being changed.
