Cllr. Derek Mitchell supports Educate Together School in Greystones

Press Release

Cllr Derek Mitchell supports Educate Together Secondary School in Greystones

Because of the big population increase there is a need for a new Secondary School in Greystones in a couple of years. Two years ago I did a study on where pupils went to school and this showed that Greystones is unique, in Ireland, as 60% of current Secondary pupils go to school outside the town. I believe that the best chance of persuading people to stay in Greystones is to have an Educate Together school. Also there is a Vocational Education Committee school in the area so a choice of schools would be beneficial.

I am delighted that following a large attendance at a meeting in the Rugby Club on Tuesday that a pressure group has been formed and am happy to assist.
