People who need Rent Supplement to provide themselves with rental accommodation are having to wait over 16 weeks for this to be approved. This is a ridiculous delay as those who need this, have no money for accommodation. I am aware of a family who is waiting this long and I asked Billy Timmins TD to ask the Minister for Health about it. The HSE replied that a Centralised unit was set up for Wicklow in December 09 and there was a large delay but extra staff were being assigned to it.

It is essential to give families a quick decision so they can get accommodation.
