Greystones Harbour houses to start this year

Sispar the harbour builder, has announced that they are to start building the housing this year due to growing demand. ‘I am pleased as the best way to get the site cleared up and finished is to get the housing built as planned’ Sispar has already committed for summer 2014 to open the North Pier, a large grassed area with picnic tables and seats and they hope to arrange direct access to the South Pier from the anchor area.

Mitchell welcomes footpath projects starting in Greystones Area

The roundabout in Kilcoole is to be replaced by traffic lights to improve safety and €150k has been allocated to do it this year. Mitchell pleased an extra ambulance and 6 staff are to be based in Newcastle Hospital

Accident and Emergency facilities are being transferred from Loughlinstown Hospital to St.Vincent’s Hospital. Many types of emergency now bypass the hospital and the A & E facilities will close on 27thNovember. This is being done because much better diagnostic facilities and staff to interpret them are being provided at the larger hospital. My concern is there should be an improved ambulance service to Wicklow because of the extra distance and to ensure that St Vincent’s can cope with the extra patients.
