A number of people have mentioned the poor public transport to Eden Gate. This is a problem. However the 84x provides a surprisingly fast service to Dublin. Following pressure there are now 10 services in the morning rush hour and it stops at Eden Wood. I am also pressing for: • More jobs in Greystones to reduce the need to commute. • A primary school in Charlesland.
The Three Trout Stream had been dredged and debris cleared upstream of Charlesland Court and Wood. The debris has washed down to Charlesland and caused blockages. Also the debris removed has been left on the stream banks. The Council must immediately clear the stream at Charlesland to prevent flooding. A substantial development contribution was made by the Charlesland developers to fund work on the stream but council officials have for years refused to answer my questions about what they spent it on. Dear Resident Following your call I put down a motion, together with Cllrs. George Jones and Grainne McLoughlin, at the recent Town Council meeting about providing a bus shelter in Charlesland. As it happened Dublin Bus attended the meeting and I raised it directly with them. They said that they had a budget this year and would install shelters in a number of different locations which we asked about. This included Charlesland. Hopefully this will now happen this year. I have raised a number of relevant issues: Roundabout. Copy of engineers reply attached. He got the wrong idea. He is going to think about it further but the issues are difficult. Pedestrian Crossings. I also asked him to consider this in view of the developments and the poor crossings to shops and bus stops. Bus Shelter.
