Early this year the developer submitted a plan to develop 26 houses, including 5 within the shell of the old hotel. The Council requested a number of design changes to reduce the impact on the Architectural Conservation Area and more recently some to provide better footpaths. The developer has made some changes including the provision of 50 bike parking spaces. The Council is due to make a decision by the 22nd September.
‘I objected to some aspects but these have been changed and now we need progress on this prominent but derelict site’ said Cllr Derek Mitchell.
