Live Register figures continue to fall

Cllr Derek Mitchell said the latest Live Register figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) show that the number of young people on the Live Register has dropped again, as it has consistently since July 2010.

“In the year to March 2014, the number of people aged under 25 decreased by 7,672, which represents a 11.5% decrease,” Derek said.

The percentage of persons aged under 25 on the Live Register now stands at 15.0% for March 2014, down from 15.7% in March 2013 and 16.8% in March 2012. This is a much better performance than all the other Bailout states in the EU and shows that FG Government Policy the Action plan for Jobs, which has been tough to implement, is working very well.
