At Mondays meeting of Wicklow County Council it was decided to Take in Charge the Dual Carriageway. This followed a commitment from management to maintain it, subject to next year’s budget process.

At a previous meeting Council officials had said that there was no money to maintain it while other officials said we were legally required to Take it in Charge and hand back the bond. I proposed that it would be left as previously unless there was a commitment to maintain it. This had narrowly passed and put adequate pressure on to get a commitment to maintain it. a more detailed plan is to be produced as part of the budget process.

Without grass and bush trimming the 6 roundabouts would become dangerous and it would all look unsightly.
