At Mondays meeting of Wicklow County Council the officials proposed to sell a strip of land next to Willowmere Apartments, at the top of Redford Park, to the builder of the apartments. In the years ahead this junction needs to be improved as it will get much busier and I insisted that an objective to improve it was put into the Town Plan. It makes no sense to sell Council land, which will be needed to widen the main road, and then have to Compulsorily Purchase it when the road is to be built. I objected to the sale and Council officials withdrew the sale and were asked to ensure that enough land was left to provide another lane.

In the longer term this junction needs to be improved by providing another lane and improving cycling safety to the 2 new schools.
